HYDRAULIC TECHNICIAN

Job Type: Full-time 
Pay: From $18.00 per hour 

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is responsible for maintaining a high level of quality standards and production efficiency with the assembly of industrial and mobile hydraulic pumps, valves, and motors.  The ability to verify component integrity, adhere to standard practice and understand mechanical and engineering specifications is a must.  Assemble from a BOM to full functionality testing in assuring a high level of operational integrity throughout the process.

Major Duties or Responsibilities
  • Assemble pumps, motors, valves, and sub-assemblies to order. Vickers, Racine, Rex Roth & Denison 
  • Convert stock pumps, motors, valves, and sub-assemblies to order. 
Surplus Stock Tasks
  • Prepare surplus purchased items for stock. 
Testing Tasks
  • Test pumps, motors, valves, and sub-assemblies to order. 
  • Ensure tested items meet our testing standards. 
  • Test RGA units received from customers. 
  • Maintain organized storage system for test records. 
Teamwork
  • Embody the HPS VMV in words and actions. 
  • Actively participate in group meetings. 
  • Provide moral support during times of change and challenge. 
  • Provide intradepartmental support during down time. 
  • Cooperation with teammates to ensure customer satisfaction. 
Continuous Learning
  • Cross train on other product lines. 
  • Cross train in testing systems and procedures. 
  • Participate in internal and external training and certification. 
Systems and Quality
  • Participate in systems improvement and quality initiatives. 
Technical Skills Required
  • Able to read parts drawings and other technical documents. 
  • Able to use required hand tools. 
  • Able to comprehend manufacturer model codes and related technical data. 
  • Able to use test stand and understand testing procedures. 
  • Able to utilize and maintain departmental equipment.

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Work directly with the sales group in executing defined telemarketing and tele sales campaigns to generate interest and sales opportunities for HPS. Analyze designated sales territories or segmented customer groups and take proactive action to achieve initial account penetration and brand awareness. Standards (Position Specific and Company Wide)

Position Specific:

  1. Exemplify the HPS values of INTEGRITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, COMMITMENT and Excellence at all times
  2. All workstations shall be kept clean per the defined HPS standard at all times
  3. All jobs shall be moved appropriately within the Order Tracking System
  4. Prior to takings units to test, all model codes shall be verified against job packets
  5. Prior to building a unit, all parts in the kits shall be thoroughly inspected. Any missing, incorrect or defective items shall be brought to the attention of the Production manager
  6. Technician assumes full ownership for each and every unit that is produced
  7. Once technician signs off on unit, this is verification that this meet all required specifications
  8. Production technicians shall not enter the inventory department unless under the supervision of the Inventory Manager.

Company Wide:

  1. All work will be performed consistent with the spirit of the HPS Vision, Mission and Values
  2. All work will be performed according to company policies and standards inherent in all position agreement‘s, system action plans, employee manuals, and ongoing policy memoranda
  3. All work will be performed in accordance with all government laws, regulations, ordinances, and court rulings in those jurisdictions in which the company operates
  4. All routine work will be documented in an Operations Manual. The information included in the Operations Manual is proprietary
  5. Client and company information will be held strictly confidential outside the company.
