Hydraulic Parts Source is specialized in four product lines: Vickers, Denison, the Rexroth A10VSO series, and Servo and Proportional valves.
HPS is proud to carry Vickers products, which offer an incredibly wide variety of applications, and a quality that lasts. Known for their vibrant blue color, Vickers hydraulics are one of the longest-standing and well-known names in fluid power.
With more than 2 million hydraulic parts on the shelf, HPS has the largest in-stock availability of obsolete, discontinued, long-lead and hard-to-find Vickers products.
What is Vickers? Or, rather…WHO is Vickers?
Vickers hydraulics are named after a man considered to be the “Father of Industrial Hydraulics”, Harry Franklin Vickers (1898 – 1977), an American industrialist and inventor from California.
After returning from his time serving in the US Army Signal Corps during WWI, he established the business that became the brand – Vickers Manufacturing Company.
The company, later known as Vickers, Inc., created multiple innovations in fluid power including the first hydraulic power steering system.
In response to their rapid growth in the automotive sector, as well as other industries, the company moved their headquarters to Detroit, and merged with Fisher Body to form the Sperry Corporation and Sperry Vickers, of which Harry Vickers was president.
Many years and many successes later, Vickers was acquired and became part of Eaton’s product holdings in 1999.
Recently acquired by Danfoss, the Vickers brand is continuing to lead the way in the industrial world with a collection of high-quality piston pumps, valves, electro-hydraulic controls, cylinders and filtration products that benefit many manufacturers.
Vickers Hydraulics in the Marketplace
An experienced supplier of power and motion control systems that serve industrial, vehicle, construction, commercial and semiconductor markets, Vickers is a global brand that accounts for a good share of all fluid power products on the market.
Vickers hydraulic products can be used in many different applications and industries, such as:
- Lawn and garden
- And many more.
Vickers is an industry leader in low-speed, high-torque (LSHT) hydraulic motor technology, known for its reliable high-power density, modularity, and an economic design.
Their products are also known for their energy-efficient products and services that help end-users effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more reliably, efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
Formerly known as Eaton-Vickers, the Vickers brand belongs to the collection of fluid power products now known as Danfoss PowerSource. Although the brand is in transition from a business operations perspective, the quality, reputation, reliability and wide-ranging applications are expected to continue to be as strong as ever with the Vickers brand.
What Makes Vickers a Remanufacturing All-Star
Vickers is a highly adaptable brand that not only has a strong market demand for new products; it’s also one brand in which the process of remanufacturing excels. Here’s why.
Vickers is a reliable product. Their parts and assemblies are well-made, and as a result, they’re known to keep going and going. The solid manufacturing of their products allow high-quality remanufacturers like HPS to take inoperable pumps, motors, and more, and remanufacture them back to OE status after a single component breaks.
When hydraulic pumps, motors, or valve cores fail, it’s usually a single component gone bad. The rest of the unit is often still in good operating condition.
Vickers continues its high performance long after remanufacturing and reassembly, so it is a natural fit for this process.
HPS offers a long supply list of remanufactured Vickers series pumps, motors, and valves.
Vickers-Eaton is a Sure Bet
HPS has the largest in-stock availability of obsolete, discontinued, long-lead and hard-to-find products. And of its more than 2 million hydraulic parts on the shelf, Vickers-Eaton stands out as:
- A well-known global manufacturer of hydraulic products
- A product line capable of many different applications and markets
- An industry leader in low-speed, high-torque (LSHT) hydraulic motor technology
- A high-performance and long-lasting product line ideal for remanufacturing
HPS offers a variety of quality fluid power products, and we’re confident that Vickers hydraulics are sure to be a long-lasting and reliable fit for end-users who demand dependability and performance.
